Worship Ministry

This committee meets once a month with the rector, music director,
other members of the clergy, as well as representatives from the
altar guild, lay ministers and vestry to plan regular services,
special services, and occasional alternative worship.

Acolytes are young people trained in church services.  They attend monthly meetings for training and fellowship.

Altar Guild is a group of men and women responsible for setting up the church and altar for all services, cleaning after the services, arranging flowers, laundering altar linens and buying supplies for worship.  The altar guild meets quarterly.

The Choir rehearses weekly to prepare anthems, hymns and service music for the 10:00 am service every Sunday.  The choir also provides music for special services.

Lay Readers read the lessons and lead psalms.  Youth as well as adults are encouraged to join this ministry.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM) lead prayers of the people and serve as chalice bearers.  On 5th Sundays they officiate at Morning Prayer.  LEM's assist at funerals, baptisms and other special services and administer home communion when needed.

Ushers greet people in the narthex at each service on Sunday mornings, direct the flow of people during the Eucharist, take attendance, collect visitor cards, direct visitors to the rector and are responsible for collecting the offerings.

On Occasion Workshops and Quiet Days.  Special events offered throughout the year are announced in the Sunday bulletin and/or in The Bell newsletter.
